Superintendent – Technologies

We are seeking a Superintendent to drive excellence in our cutting‑edge Technologies division, supervising teams that power the backbone of intelligent buildings nationwide.
Role Overview
Technologies Superintendents perform skilled work while supervising project execution and providing guidance to all personnel on an assigned project. The position requires broad field experience, leadership, and administrative skills, with a focus on client satisfaction, team safety, budget management, and quality.
Responsibilities
- Lead teams of up to 10 members and perform hands‑on install, repair, termination, certification, and troubleshooting of low‑voltage systems.
- Collaborate with the Technologies Project Manager to establish budgets, manage labor hours, committed and material costs.
- Communicate with the Project Manager regarding completed tasks, potential issues, and manpower requirements.
- Prepare progress reports and monthly projections for cash‑flow and profit accuracy.
- Ensure safe, industry‑standard work, keeping employees aware of safety policies and general work procedures.
- Install cabling for ITS, Access Control/Security, CCTV, Paging, and related systems.
- Install devices for Access Control/Security, CCTV, Access Points (Wi‑Fi), Paging.
- Manage and complete service calls involving troubleshooting of Copper, Fiber, AV, Cameras, and Access Control/Security systems.
- Maintain task and punch lists, close‑out documentation, as‑builts, test results, and customer system training.
- Maintain drawings and labeling for close‑out documents, inventory and material planning.
- Audit material for weekly and monthly look‑ahead work.
- Plan daily, weekly, and two‑week look‑ahead tasks; pre‑plan to meet timelines.
- Build out MDF, IDF, enclosures, ladder tray, basket, and 2‑4 post racks; punch down, routing, labeling, dressing cabling.
- Install Head‑end equipment, switches, UPS, cross‑connect, patch‑in copper and fiber; terminate and splice fiber.
- Use certification test equipment; upload test results, print labels, keep detailed records.
- Understand firestopping, riser, and plenum environments; lead and coach technicians.
- Work safely with other construction trades, handle emergency situations, and maintain tools and materials.
- Obtain required Amteck safety certifications and maintain a safe work environment.
Qualifications
- 5–6 years of verified experience with low‑voltage systems and cabling.
- Experience supervising or training others in similar work.
- OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain).
- Understanding of budgets, labor hours, material and committed costs.
- Ability to complete relevant documentation accurately.
- Planning and workflow design skills with basis of design and task efficiency.
- Experience with ITS, Access Control/Security, CCTV, Paging, and Wi‑Fi systems.
- Proficiency in installing devices and troubleshooting Copper, Fiber, AV, Cameras, and Access Control/Security systems.
- Knowledge of POE requirements for CCTV.
- Manufacturer certifications or ability to obtain.
- Experience building MDF, IDF, enclosures, ladder tray, basket, 2‑4 post racks; punch down, labeling, routing.
- Installation of UPS systems and equipment in racks; cross‑connect or patch‑in copper and fiber.
- Ability to terminate and splice fiber, identify multi‑mode vs single‑mode.
- Termination of data jacks and mod plugs.
- Use of test equipment, Fluke software, COINS, Box, PlanGrid, and related programs.
- Maintaining clear records, reading blueprints, schematics, and drawings.
- Knowledge of BICSI, ANSI, TIA standards and NEC codes for low‑voltage installations.
- Physical requirements and ability to travel as needed.
