Job summary

Catapult Solutions Group in Santa Clara, CA seeks a Low Voltage Infrastructure Engineer for a 12-month contract, onsite 2 days per week. You will partner with facilities and business stakeholders to define requirements, develop BOMs, and oversee low voltage contractor bidding.

You'll lead infrastructure standards development, coordinate with network and AV teams, document deployments, perform site walks, and ensure smooth handover to operations.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in telecommunications consulting, construction project management, low voltage infrastructure, or related disciplines.
  • Strong understanding of network architectures and network infrastructure components.
  • Ability to work onsite several days per week and perform physical inspections within network rooms.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited direction.
  • Proven leadership capability in challenging and dynamic environments.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to support global teams across multiple time zones.

Responsibilities

  • Define project requirements, estimates, BOMs, and cost projections.
  • Serve as technical stakeholder for low voltage contractor bidding and selection processes.
  • Define equipment placement within network rooms, including security systems, building automation systems, rack locations for network equipment, and service provider demarcation areas.
  • Collaborate with network and audiovisual engineering teams to gather infrastructure requirements.
  • Create deployment specifications and construction documentation for low voltage contractors.
  • Conduct regular site walks, provide project feedback, and monitor construction progress.
  • Complete project closeout documentation and transition completed environments to operational teams.
  • Track capacity utilization for ports, fiber infrastructure, and power distribution outlets within network rooms.
  • Support equipment installation, rack integration, and structured cabling activities.
  • Configure and connect intelligent power distribution units and uninterruptible power systems.
  • Monitor rack level and facility level power utilization.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of network rooms and assets using asset management platforms including NetBox and Nautobot.
  • Perform infrastructure audits to validate asset accuracy and assess operational impacts related to power events and maintenance activities.

12 months contract position for a Low Voltage Infrastructure Engineer in Santa Clara, CA (onsite 2 days/week)
Low Voltage Design for Office and Lab Builds
  • Partner with facilities teams and business stakeholders to define project requirements, develop rough order of magnitude estimates, bills of materials, and cost projections.
  • Serve as the technical stakeholder for low voltage contractor bidding and selection processes.
  • Define equipment placement within network rooms, including security systems, building automation systems, rack locations for network equipment, and service provider demarcation areas.
  • Collaborate with network and audiovisual engineering teams to gather infrastructure requirements.

Infrastructure Standards and Architecture
  • Develop and refine low voltage infrastructure standards and design practices.
  • Build technology roadmaps supporting future infrastructure growth.
  • Improve collaboration workflows and implement automation initiatives that drive operational efficiency.
  • Establish measurements and success criteria to evaluate deployment quality and project outcomes.
Qualifications: Required Qualifications
  • 5 or more years of experience in telecommunications consulting, construction project management, low voltage infrastructure, or related disciplines.
  • Strong understanding of network architectures and network infrastructure components.
  • Ability to work onsite several days per week and perform physical inspections within network rooms.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 10 or more years of related industry experience.
  • Registered Communications Distribution Designer certification.
  • Experience with Autodesk products including AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam Studio.
  • Experience mentoring technical team members and managing vendor relationships.
  • Strong analytical abilities with Data Center Infrastructure Management and Configuration Management Database experience.
