Pay Range

$20 to $32 per hour

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in commercial low voltage installation
• Proven experience with fire alarm systems (installation, troubleshooting, inspections)
• Knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, and local building codes
• Experience with fire alarm systems such as Notifier, Simplex, EST, or similar (preferred)
• Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Key Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and test low voltage wiring systems, including:
  • Fire alarm systems
  • Data/communication cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic)
  • Access control systems
  • CCTV and security systems
• Install and service fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA 72 and local codes
• Perform system inspections, testing, and troubleshooting of fire alarm panels and devices
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
• Program and configure fire alarm and low voltage systems (if applicable)
• Ensure all work meets safety standards and complies with NEC and local regulations
• Coordinate with general contractors, project managers, and inspectors
• Maintain accurate documentation of installations, service calls, and inspections
• Respond to service calls and emergency repairs as needed
