Job summary

Pavion is seeking a Low-Voltage Drafter 1 to join our security business unit in Chantilly, VA. This on-site role focuses on preparing 2D AutoCAD drawings for low-voltage systems, interpreting drawings, and maintaining accurate documentation.

Responsibilities include collaborating with engineers and project managers, revising drawings from redlines, and assisting with submittals and record documentation. 0–2 years of drafting experience is acceptable; associate degree in drafting is preferred.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D drafting).
• 0-2 years of drafting experience (internship or related coursework acceptable).
• Ability to read and understand construction documents.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy.
• Willingness to learn and grow in low-voltage design and drafting.
• Strong communication skills and ability to take direction from senior team members.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to or familiarity with low-voltage systems (AV, security, fire alarm, intercom, nurse call, etc.).
• Experience with Bluebeam Revu or other markup/review tools.
• Basic knowledge of industry standards (BICSI, NFPA, IBC) is a plus.
• Associate degree, technical certificate, or relevant coursework in Drafting or Design Technology.

The hourly pay range for this position is $XX.XX-$YY.YY per hour. The starting hourly pay will be determined based on qualifications, experience, education, skills, certifications, and internal equity.
