Job summary

Veterans Health Administration in the United States seeks a licensed Low Vision Optometrist to provide routine and specialized eye care for Veterans at the American Lake Blind Rehabilitation Center. You will work with Low Vision Therapists in an interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.

The role includes comprehensive low vision evaluations, rehabilitation exams, mentorship of trainees, and clinical training of residents, with a standard Mon–Fri schedule and on-site work.

Responsibilities

• Provides comprehensive low vision evaluations and vision rehabilitation examinations to eligible inpatients and outpatients.
• Interprets diagnostic images and coordinates abnormal findings.
• Mentions instruments such as OCT, topography, ultrasound, perimetry for ocular disease assessment and treatment.
• Mentors and trains residents, students and healthcare trainees.
• Manages administrative care documentation and referrals for rehabilitation.
