Job summary

Louisiana Association for the Blind (LAB) is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join the Community Services team in Shreveport, LA. You will work with a low vision team to enhance daily living and independence through instruction, training, and assessment.

The role involves evaluating clients, supervising COTAs, providing direct services at least 25 hours per week, and collaborating with specialists to tailor vision rehabilitation plans.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy required.
• Current Louisiana OT license required.
• NBCOT certification required.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide low vision evaluations and training to improve independence.
• Supervise COTAs delivering ADL/IADL training and use of assistive devices.
• Provide a minimum of 25 hours weekly of direct service and consultation.
• Conduct seating and positioning assessments and home/worksite evaluations.
• Collaborate with CATIS, COMS, and others to implement plans.
• Complete documentation, charting, and data collection per policy.
