Job summary

ISA is seeking a Low Code Engineer to design and deliver secure, scalable enterprise applications using Microsoft Power Platform. You will translate requirements into production-ready Power Apps, Power Automate workflows, and Power BI reports while integrating Dataverse data with Azure services.

You will own the build lifecycle from development to deployment, ensure security compliance, and collaborate with program management and SMEs to meet mission needs in a DoD/DoW context.

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years designing, building, and deploying production low-code/no-code solutions using Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Able to write Power Fx formulas and scripts to extend platform functionality.
  • Hands-on software development experience (e.g., JavaScript, Python) for custom connectors and integrations.
  • Experience in GCC-High and Azure Government secure cloud environments.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, build, and deploy end-to-end low-code solutions using Power Platform and Dataverse.
  • Develop custom connectors, Azure Functions, and Logic Apps to extend capabilities.
  • Create automated workflows and data visualizations with Power BI and automated test plans.
  • Ensure security hardening and compliance with DoD/DoW standards.
  • Produce architecture diagrams, technical docs, and end-user training.

This professional brings strong software engineering fundamentals and deep, hands-on expertise in the Microsoft Power Platform suite (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Dataverse) to architect, build, and deploy secure, scalable enterprise applications from the ground up. Operating as a builder rather than a reviewer, the incumbent works directly with program management, contracts personnel, and domain SMEs to translate requirements into production-ready applications, automated workflows, and custom integrations across the enterprise.WORK MODEL:Our people-first culture prioritizes the benefits of flexibility and collaboration. The ability to meet across teams at the office and cross-pollinate information is critical to our success.RESPONSIBILITIES:The Low Code Engineer builds and delivers end-to-end technical solutions using Microsoft Power Platform products and low-code technologies. They translate business requirements directly into well-architected, production-ready applications, automated workflows, and data visualizations, writing custom code, expressions, and integrations where the platform's native capabilities fall short. They design and build end-to-end solutions using Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse, and Azure integration services, extending platform capabilities with Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, and custom connectors. The incumbent owns the full build lifecycle—development, security hardening, data gateway configuration, unit testing, deployment, and user enablement—ensuring all low-code applications comply with federal security mandates (GCC-High / Azure Government).DUTIES:Gathers and translates business requirements and workflow needs directly into build specifications and working solutions.Architects, develops, and deploys custom applications, portals, and interfaces using Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate, and Dataverse—from requirements through production release.Writes custom formulas, expressions (Power Fx), and scripts to extend platform capabilities beyond out-of-the-box low-code/no-code defaults.Develops Azure Logic Apps and Azure Functions, and builds custom connectors, to extend Power Platform capabilities where native integrations fall short.Builds automated business process flows, leveraging connectors, AI Builder, and robotic process automation (RPA).Designs and builds interactive Power BI reports and dashboards, including custom DAX measures, to convey actionable business intelligence.Builds and embeds Power Platform components into Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and custom web applications.Designs, models, and builds database structures within Dataverse and SQL environments.Installs, configures, and maintains enterprise data gateways.Builds and hardens low-code environments in compliance with DoD/DoW security standards, resolving security vulnerability findings through code and configuration changes.Conducts unit testing, system validation, feedback iteration, and bug/code fixes within an Agile framework.Produces technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and user guides, and conducts end-user training on built solutions.Embodies and reinforces ISA’s culture and mission-focused delivery approach.OTHER DUTIES:Duties, responsibilities, and activities can change at any time based on position requirements. All ISA employees are required to uphold and maintain trustworthiness and suitability requirements of the U.S. federal government.EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:3–5+ years of hands-on experience designing, building, and deploying production low-code/no-code solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse).Demonstrates ability to write custom code, Power Fx formulas, and scripts to extend platform functionality beyond out-of-the-box configuration.Hands-on software development experience (e.g. JavaScript, Python, or similar) sufficient to build custom connectors, Azure Functions, and integrations.Proven track record building and deploying applications within Microsoft 365 GCC-High and Azure Government secure cloud environments.Proficiency in database modeling, SQL Server, and data integration techniques (e.g., SSIS, Dataverse, REST APIs).Experience extending Power Platform capabilities using Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, or custom connectors.Experience building within Agile software development environments utilizing tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.Familiarity with federal cybersecurity frameworks (NIST SP 800-171, CMMC, DFARS) as applied to application security and data governance.Strong written and verbal communication skills for translating technical build decisions to both engineering peers and executive stakeholders.EDUCATION:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience. A master's degree in a related field is preferred.For senior levels, relevant experience in a managerial position is an added advantage.CERTIFICATION:Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II baseline certification requirements, such as one of the following:CompTIA Security+ CECySA+GSECSSCPAdditional certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, Microsoft 365/Azure, PMP, Microsoft Power Platform certifications (e.g., PL-900, PL-100, PL-200, PL-400, or PL-600), or Certified CMMC Professional (CCP)) are strongly preferred.
