Job summary

Hearst Magazines is seeking a Love and Identity Editor for Cosmopolitan in New York City. You will write and edit compelling stories about love, relationships, sex, and identity for multiple mediums, delivering timely coverage with Cosmopolitan's voice.

Responsibilities include producing 4-5 articles weekly, editing 15-20 stories monthly, collaborating with social and audience teams, and developing a weekly love and identity newsletter or video series in partnership with editorial leadership.

Qualifications

• 4 years of digital editorial experience covering relationships, culture, sex, and/or identity.
• Strong editorial judgment with exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
• Deep understanding of Cosmopolitan's editorial voice and audience.
• Passion for discovering and writing about trends and conversations shaping culture.
• Comfort analyzing performance and commerce data to inform editorial decisions.
• Organized, collaborative, and self-motivated, with the ability to write quickly without sacrificing quality.

Responsibilities

• Write and publish 4-5 thought-provoking and timely cultural articles related to love, sex, identity, and relationships per week.
• Edit 15-20 love and relationship stories per month, ensuring they meet Cosmopolitan's standards and voice.
• Partner with social and audience teams to tell stories across social and video platforms, including narrating videos or drafting captions.
• Develop and pilot a new weekly love and identity newsletter or video series with editorial leadership.
• Identify emerging trends and conversations for compelling, timely stories.
• Analyze performance and commerce data to inform editorial decisions and content strategy.
• Collaborate across the newsroom to bring stories to life across digital, social, video, and newsletters.
