Job summary

Brightstar in California is seeking a Field Service Technician to maintain and service lottery equipment at retailer locations. You will respond to dispatches, travel within your zone, install, remove or repair devices, and ensure continuous operation of Brightstar products.

Based in Monterey County, the role requires a high school diploma, 1+ year in a customer-service or technical repair role, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of customer service experience.
• 1+ year of technical repairs, IT support, PC skills, automotive, or mechanical work.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Transport, install and maintain Brightstar equipment, replacement parts, tools, and related materials.
• Attend driver training and follow Brightstar vehicle policy regarding the use and maintenance of the company vehicle.
• Maintain equipment to promote continuous operation of Brightstar products.
• Troubleshoot and restore malfunctioning equipment in the field, including swapping failed components, cleaning, and minor adjustments.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, accurately reporting activity, arrival and departure times, problems, and resolutions.
• Deliver marketing supplies and consumable parts such as paper, ribbons, betslips, etc., and track inventory of these items.
• Provide basic training to new retailers or refresher training to retailers performing procedures incorrectly (e.g., changing paper and ribbon).
• Complete basic forms for reporting activities, equipment problems, and recommendations for procedural improvements.
