Job summary

CEC Companies is hiring a LOTO Coordinator to develop, implement, and oversee the Lockout/Tagout program onsite in Irving, TX. You will protect personnel and equipment during construction, commissioning, maintenance, and operations in data centers and mission critical environments.

The role requires delivering energy control procedures, supervising LOTO activities, and coordinating with project teams to ensure compliance with OSHA standards and client safety requirements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction, industrial, manufacturing, or mission critical experience.
• Experience administering Lockout/Tagout programs.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA hazardous energy control standards.
• Ability to read electrical one-lines, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings.
• OSHA 30 certification required; additional safety certifications preferred.
• Experience in data centers, semiconductor facilities, power generation, or other mission critical environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the site-specific Lockout/Tagout program.
• Create and review energy control procedures (ECPs) for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Identify, document, and control hazardous energy sources.
• Coordinate and supervise LOTO activities for construction, commissioning, maintenance, and start-up operations.
• Verify proper application and removal of locks and tags.
• Maintain real-time LOTO logs and system status boards.
• Conduct routine audits to ensure procedural compliance.
• Train and certify authorized and affected employees in LOTO procedures.
• Conduct refresher training and toolbox talks as needed.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147 and client safety standards.
• Support safety audits and serve as the central LOTO contact onsite.
• Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors.

Position Summary

The LOTO Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) program to ensure the safe control of hazardous energy during construction, commissioning, maintenance, and operational activities. This role protects personnel, equipment, and facility operations—particularly in complex environments such as data centers, mission critical facilities, and advanced manufacturing plants.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the site‑specific Lockout/Tagout program.
• Create and review energy control procedures (ECPs) for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Ensure all hazardous energy sources are properly identified, documented, and controlled.
• Coordinate and supervise LOTO activities for construction, commissioning, maintenance, and start‑up operations.
• Verify proper application and removal of locks and tags.
• Maintain real‑time LOTO logs and system status boards.
• Conduct routine audits to ensure compliance with established procedures.
• Train and certify authorized and affected employees in LOTO procedures.
• Conduct refresher training and toolbox talks as needed.

• Support internal and external safety audits.
• Serve as the central point of contact for all LOTO‑related activities onsite.

• Facilitate daily coordination meetings to review active LOTO scopes and impacts.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all lockouts, tags, and system isolations.
• Prepare reports for leadership regarding LOTO compliance and safety performance.
• Assist in incident investigations involving hazardous energy control.
• Perform other duties as needed to support projects, operations, and the department.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience administering Lockout/Tagout programs.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA hazardous energy control standards.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical one‑lines, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings.
• OSHA 30 certification required; additional safety certifications preferred.
• Experience in data centers, semiconductor facilities, power generation, or other mission critical environments preferred.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

May work inside or outside, in all weather conditions. Requires working at extreme heights, confined spaces, and in restricted areas such as switchgear rooms, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, or attics. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead. Must lift 51 pounds routinely. Must work at ladders of all types and complete full day assignments involving overhead work. Must be able to access all levels of the building via OSHA‑approved ladders or stairs under construction.

Must have normal or corrected vision capable of discerning color‑coded wires, and normal or corrected hearing. Must wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest) at all times.

Must work 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week, with overtime, weekends, and night shifts as required by project schedules. Work requires flexibility and the ability to work with customers without disruption while maintaining a professional image.
