Job summary

Summit Fleet in Holland, Ohio is seeking a reliable lot technician/detailer to manage inventory and maintain vehicle cleanliness for rentals. You’ll coordinate with transport drivers to unload, log, and organize incoming vehicles and ensure all fleet vehicles are prepared for rental

The role emphasizes thorough inspections, PDI checks, and professional communication with customers. A valid license and ability to lift 50 lbs are required, with driving/detailing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Arrange, park, log, and organize all vehicles at the facility and any auxiliary lots.
• Ensure vehicles are clean and presentable for customers.
• Keep the lot organized, clean, and free of trash or debris.
• Transport vehicles to various destinations as needed.
• Detail vehicles interior and exterior as required.
• Verify license plates and registrations are valid and in correct places.
• Install decals on vehicles.
• Log damages and inspect vehicles going on/off rent; photograph as needed.
• Conduct Pre Delivery Inspections (PDI) ensuring good mechanical condition.
• Communicate with customers to confirm delivery/pickup of vehicles.
• Handle other duties as assigned.

Overview

Job Summary

We are looking for a reliable, proactive, and detail-oriented lot technician / detailer to efficiently manage and oversee the inventory and cleanliness of our vehicles. In this role, you will coordinate with transport drivers to facilitate the unloading, accurate logging, and systematic organization of incoming vehicles. You will be responsible for ensuring that all vehicles on the lot are thoroughly cleaned, maintained, and prepared for rental to our valued customers.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Arrange, park, log and organize all vehicles at your facility and potential auxiliary parking lots
• Ensure vehicles are clean and presentable for customers
• Ensure the lot is organized, clean and free from trash, litter, and debris
• Transport vehicles to various destinations (customers, service facilities, etc)
• Detail vehicles as required (both interior and exterior)
• Ensure license plates and registrations are valid, matching and in the correct places
• Install decals
• Perform vehicle inspections and take pictures of vehicles going on and off rent, note damages, obvious mechanical deficiencies and cleanliness.
• PDI (Pre Delivery Inspection) making sure vehicle is delivered from the dealer in good mechanical condition, installing floor mats, antennas, license plates and removing factory plastics
• Professionally communicating with customers to confirm delivery / pick up of vehicles
• Other duties as assigned

• Driving or detailing experience preferred
• Ability to write simple correspondence and use a tablet, basic computer proficiency
• Flexible and adaptable with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong team player
• Capacity to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
• Must be able to lift 50lbs
• Strong attention to detail
• Proficient with driving and parking vehicles in tight areas. Our fleet ranges from small trucks to 2 ton and 15 passenger vans.
