Job summary

George’s is seeking a Lot Driver - CDL to safely transport product and materials to support daily operations. You will perform pre/post trip checks and ensure compliance with DOT regulations while maintaining a clean, orderly yard.

The role requires a current Class A CDL, ability to pass a DOT physical, and English proficiency. You’ll be part of a multi-generational family-owned company passionate about high-quality poultry products and customer focus.

Qualifications

• Current Class A CDL Driver’s license is required.
• Must pass DOT physical.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
• 1 year of experience with completed driver's school training or 2 years of experience without driver's school training.
• Follow verbal and written instructions.
• Proficiency in English.
• Preferred High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous poultry or meat processing experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform all pre and post trip checks as per protocol.
• Obey all local, State, Federal and DOT regulations.
• Maintain a safe work environment.
• Obey animal welfare rules and regulation laws.
• Back trailers into and out of loading dock, safely maneuvering the trucks within the yard.
• Assist with docking.
• Inspect trailers (lot check).
• Assist jack drivers with the movement of items in the dock area, as needed.
• Only move trailer when light is green.
• Communicate professionally with all other team members, including the truck drivers.
• Chock wheels of trailer when backing into the loading dock.
• When using an over the road tractor, ensure the pin on the fifth wheel is pulled and not re-hooked.
• Responsible for being on call during the weekend as needed.
• Responsible for using proper technique and any other duties as deemed necessary by the supervisor.
• Maintain satisfactory attendance and job performance in accordance with company policies and procedures
• Obey all animal welfare rules and regulation laws
• All other duties as assigned

Education

Current Class A CDL Driver’s license

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
