Job summary

St. James Volkswagen is part of AutoCanada’s dealership network and seeks an Automotive Service Lot Attendant. You will transport customers and staff, maintain vehicle cleanliness, and aid in inventory organization and merchandising. The role is fast-paced with emphasis on reliability and physical capability.

You should be curious about vehicles, possess a valid license, and be able to drive both automatic and manual transmissions. A positive, detail-oriented mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Transport customers and dealership personnel as needed.
• Assist with daily organization and parking of vehicles for sale and service.
• Perform interior and exterior cleaning of vehicles to customers or inventory.
• Inspect vehicles for damages before returning to customers and report any issues.
• Assist with shop cleanup and deliveries as needed.
• Identify merchandising needs and place signage on vehicles for advertising.

Your area of focus.

In this position, theAutomotive Service LotAttendantwill be responsible for transporting customers as needed, cleaningthe interior and exterior of vehicles owned by customers and those that will beplaced into inventory. Success in this role will require someone who has thephysical capabilities to effectively maneuver around, under, and inside thevehicle to ensure a thorough and satisfactory detail has been completed.

What drives your day-to-day?

• Transporting customers and dealership personnel, as needed
• Building and grounds maintenance as needed
• Service and Sales Department duties
• Daily Organization and parking of vehicles for saleand service department
• Remove vehicle protective coverings and ID tags prior to returning completed vehicle to customer
• Inspect vehicles for stains,debrisand damages before returning the vehicle to the customer, and report any damageimmediately
• Assist with service write-ups and tagging of customer cars and trucks
• Assistwith shop clean-up and deliveries when needed
• Cleaning off vehicle exteriors based on seasonal needs (i.e.snow removal)
• Identifyany lot merchandising needs or issues to theappropriate manager
• Placing signage in and on vehiclesfor advertising purposes
• Monitoring and organizing vehicles daily based on their progress in the reconditioning process

What arethe must-haves…

• High school diploma or GED
• Interest in automotive industry, and knowledgeable about vehicles
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to drive automatic and manual transmission vehicles
• Experience working with cleaning products and cleaning tools including power washers is an asset
• Must be dependable, reliable,possessa strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize effectively
