Job summary

Publix Super Markets is seeking a seasoned Loss Prevention Manager to oversee stores in Collier/Lee counties, respond to emergencies, and lead shrink/safety programs. You will analyze financial data to improve loss control, supervise external security contractors, and ensure safe, compliant store operations.

The role requires extensive LP experience, strong investigative and data-analysis skills, and the ability to work variable hours, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
• Five years in retail loss prevention and safety with multi-store experience.
• Two years in management of people or five years of Publix retail management.
• Knowledge of retail loss prevention processes and safety practices.
• Experience with data analysis and retail accounting methods.
• Ability to work variable schedules and be on call.

• Responding to emergencies and investigating internal theft or violent incidents.
• Scheduling and conducting Shrink and Safety Assessments for stores.
• Evaluating financial reports to identify shrink reduction opportunities and related costs.
• Overseeing installation and use of security equipment in stores.

• Scheduling and conducting Shrink and Safety Assessments to evaluate compliance with operational controls related to shrink and safety performance in key stores
• Evaluating financial reports to identify improvement opportunities with regard to shrink reduction, workers’ compensation and general liability, control of cash losses and vendor credits
• Keeping abreast of or responding to local issues or activities that may impact the safety/security of customers or associates, or create a business risk and to provide appropriate support
• Identifying and reacting to stores for which a risk assessment is appropriate and overseeing the installation and use of security related equipment
• Investigating incidents, which may create actual or potential losses, committed by non-associates
• Management and oversight of contract security services conducting administrative duties as they relate to the Loss Prevention process.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience
• Five (5) years of retail loss prevention and safety experience with
• Two (2) years of multi-store loss prevention experience with
• Two (2) years of management of people, not necessarily direct reports OR
• Five (5) years of Publix retail management experience
• Knowledge of the retail environment and how it operates
• Knowledge of retail loss prevention processes, procedures and programs
• Knowledge of general safety practices, procedures and policies as they relate to a retail environment
• Working knowledge of criminal justice system and investigation processes
• Knowledge of methods used to analyze and interpret large quantities of data
• Knowledge of retail accounting methods
• Knowledge of physical inventory process, calculation and control, particularly as it relates to shrinkage
• Knowledge of interviewing, investigative and interpersonal techniques
• Knowledge of physical security practices to include CCTV, alarm systems, EAS and other technologies
• Technical knowledge of both retail processes and loss prevention programs and strategies

• Certification in Wicklander-Zulawski Interviewing Techniques
• LPC Certification
• OSHA 10 Hour Course

Year End Bonus

As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.
