Loss Control Representative - Insurance Inspections - Charlotte, NC (Finance)

As a Verisk Field Representative, you will evaluate commercial business sites for multiple lines of insurance coverage, loss prevention, and risk assessment. You will assist insurers in their policy underwriting and pricing decisions through onsite observations and reporting. This is a full-time position requiring effective planning and organizational skills to schedule and complete commercial site visits and reports. You will have the opportunity to observe a variety of properties and business operations from the perspective of the insurance carrier.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Scheduling and conducting on-site visits; completing reports to evaluate risk; identifying business operations, construction materials, fire protection systems, safety measures; and developing safety and loss control recommendations.
  2. Representing Verisk professionally via phone, in person, and in written correspondence.
  3. Ensuring data quality by completing accurate, customer-centric reports with attention to detail and clear communication.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; preferred fields include Risk Management, Insurance, Construction Management, Property and Liability Insurance, Safety. Experience in loss control, underwriting, claims, construction, fire safety, or industrial safety is a plus.
  • Excellent customer service, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to produce concise, high-quality reports.
  • Proficiency with technology, including laptops, mobile devices, MS Office, and mobile apps; basic math skills related to measurements and percentages.
  • Self-motivated with effective planning, goal setting, and time management skills; capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to gather detailed data, map, and travel to sites; comfortable working in various environments and weather conditions; physical ability to walk, stand, climb stairs, and occasionally use ladders.
  • Professional designations such as CFPS, CSP, ARM, ALCM, NFPA, or CPCU are advantageous.

Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
  • Willingness to travel overnight as needed, including out of state.
  • Ability to learn and apply training via virtual or in-person methods.
  • Remote work setup with high-speed internet; primary residence near the designated territory.
