The pay range for this position is $84,000- $145,000.00 annually. The pay determination is based on the applicant’s education, experience, location, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on company and individual performance.

We are seeking a Construction Service Consultant with service responsibilities for a territory of multiple states. You will provide technical consultation and evaluation to underwriting to assist in the selection of new and renewal construction commercial multi-line (including Workers Compensation, Property, GL, & Auto) insurance. You will assist underwriting and management in making decisions by evaluating risks, analyzing data, identifying injury/accident trends, and preparing reports. You will utilize your prior construction and casualty experience to provide risk management and construction loss control consultation services to our insureds to minimize actual and potential loss exposure. You will also provide ongoing technical support to assist our insureds' compliance with regulations, develop programs for identified exposures to mitigate loss-producing exposures.

This position is responsible for loss control service management and related activities for large, complex, and/or key commercial accounts. This is a home-based, remote position, but will require periodic travel for business and client meetings and to our Fairfield, Ohio headquarters.

Be ready to:
  • Develop and coordinate service plans for key and complex accounts
  • Manage policyholder loss control services for key and complex accounts
  • Conduct corporate-level risk evaluations and reports for underwriting
  • Develop and execute loss reduction and risk mitigation plans for policyholders
  • Provide regular updates to policyholder risk management associates on program implementation and progress
  • Oversee management of key accounts and coordinate all loss control requests/inquiries for Key Accounts Underwriting
  • Ensure relationships are developed and fostered with key accounts
  • Ensure coordination of risk evaluations for key prospects and policyholders are conducted timely
  • Provide updates to underwriting management on account status and service plan progress
  • Ensure loss control service plans are customized and delivered uniformly
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with local independent agency partners and their clients
  • Maintain relationships with Key Account division management, underwriters, loss control specialists, and associates
  • Develop and maintain relationships with field sales management and territory representatives
  • Ensure detailed reports provide clear risk assessments and recommendations
  • Update territory loss control, field sales, and underwriting associates on service status for key accounts
  • Update agency personnel on service status for their clients
  • Review key account claims and loss trends to initiate loss mitigation efforts
Be equipped with:
  • Proven experience managing services for large and complex accounts, including developing service instructions and action plans, and holding mid-year reviews
  • Experience conducting corporate-level risk management assessments and evaluations
  • Understanding of the independent agency system
  • Ability to work remotely with flexibility to travel (approx. 25%)
  • Knowledge of commercial lines insurance products and coverages
  • Knowledge in hazard recognition and control for workers’ compensation, property, fleet, general liability, and products liability
  • Ability to develop and conduct training programs for large organizations with multiple locations
  • Strong time management skills and ability to work independently
