Role

Long Term Substitute Teachers are responsible for practicing teaching competencies, effective classroom management, positive personal qualities, and instructional matters. The role ensures all students have equal instructional opportunities and creates a challenging, dynamic, and comprehensive classroom environment.

Essential Functions
  • Provide instructional support to students with effective daily lesson planning.
  • Create a conducive classroom environment and employ varied teaching techniques and resources to implement approved curriculum.
  • Use evaluation to promote student growth intellectually, physically, socially, and emotionally.
  • Demonstrate fair, firm, consistent behavior and promote student self‑discipline.
  • Employ effective communication skills with students, parents, staff, and community.
  • Guide learning toward system goals, following board policies and procedures.
  • Assist administrators and staff in achieving the school mission with ethical standards.
  • Strive to maintain and improve professional competencies.
  • Supervise students in various school settings.
  • Maintain appropriate records.
  • Monitor equipment, materials, and facilities use and care.
  • Maintain regular, predictable attendance.

Performs other duties as assigned by the school principal.

Education/Training/Experience

Work Environment

  • Possess a Bachelor's or Master’s Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated outstanding written and oral communication skills.
