Summit School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated elementary teacher who is interested in substituting for one of our faculty who is taking maternity leave.
We are looking to appoint a long-term substitute teacher as a 3rd Grade Lead Teacher for the period between September 2025 and January 2026.
As a lead teacher the successful applicant will have day-to-day responsibility for one of our two Third Grade classes. The substitute will be responsible for teaching the Third Grade program, including Language Arts and Math. In addition, the substitute will be responsible for the general wellbeing and development of the class group of students, and some teaching of Social Studies and Science to their class. The substitute lead teacher works in collaboration with the class’s assistant teacher.
The substitute will be joining a well-established program. There is time every day for collaborative planning and we would support the substitute in spending time with the class before the maternity leave begins to become familiar with our school culture, community and systems.
