Job summary

Kanawha County Public Schools Dunbar Intermediate in Dunbar, WV seeks a Long Term Sub for 3rd grade for the 2026-2027 school year. The position is a full-time assignment of ~200 days with duties to provide instruction aligned to WV standards and district guidelines.

The teacher will plan curriculum, implement technology enhanced learning, collaborate with special education staff, supervise activities, and maintain classroom management while reporting to the principal.

Qualifications

• Valid teaching certificate licensing the individual to teach in the specified grade levels, per WV Code §18A-3-2.
• Criminal background check conducted per WV Code §18-5-15c and/or §18A-3-10, as appropriate.
• Meet the qualifications outlined in WV Code §18A-3-2a.

• Implement adopted and supplemental academic programs.
• Implement 21st century technology skills.
• Plan and implement collaborative model with special education students and teachers.

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Principal
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
EMPLOYMENT TERM: Minimum 200 days annually, pursuant to WV Code §18-5-45; extended employment terms may be established by KCSBOE.
SALARY: Pursuant to WV Code §18A-4-2, in accordance with Kanawha County Teacher Salary Schedule, commensurate with experience and education level.
EVALUATION: Performance in this position will be evaluated by the building principal/immediate supervisor and in accordance with WV State Code §18A-2-12, WV State Board Policy 5310 and KCS G48A.
JOB SUMMARY: Provide appropriate instruction to elementary students and insure that the students meet the learning objectives and standards for the appropriate grade level.
