Job summary

PharMerica is hiring a full-time Pharmacy Technician in Wilkes-Barre, PA, for a closed-door setting serving long-term care and senior living clients. Schedule includes 3pm-11pm weekdays and some weekends, with comprehensive benefits and license fee coverage.

You will fill prescriptions, label, compound, enter data, manage inventory, and support staff training in a non-retail environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Pharmacy Technician license as required by state.
• Experience in a pharmacy setting and medical terminology.
• Ability to operate a computer; recognize and identify medications.
• Detail oriented; goal oriented, team player, and effective oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Fill prescription items and package medications for dispensing and delivery.
• Accurately label products and apply cautionary/aux labels.
• Prepare medications including non-sterile compounding as needed.
• Enter patient and prescription data into the computer system for labeling.
• Support inventory management and handle returns per protocol.
• Communicate professionally with internal and external customers.
• Assist onboarding and training of new staff.
• Operate specialized tasks such as narcotics room and automated prepack machines.
• Mix IV medications and sanitize IV room/equipment.
• Service facility-based dispensing machines.
