Job summary

The Goldman Sachs Group is seeking a Vice President to lead long/short equity research and portfolio implementation within the Portfolio Management team. You will manage daily long/short portfolios, assess risk, and collaborate with engineers, operations, and product managers to drive scalable investment solutions.

Applicants should have 5+ years of equity portfolio management experience, a STEM degree, and strong programming skills (Python/MATLAB/R).

Qualifications

5+ years of equity portfolio management experience.
Undergraduate and/or graduate degree in mathematics, computer science, financial engineering, or other STEM field.
Programming experience for portfolio implementation (Python/MATLAB/R).
Strong attention to detail and teamwork.

Responsibilities

Manage long/short portfolios daily, monitoring risk exposures, margin utilization, leverage, and short locates while ensuring adherence to each account's mandate and investment guidelines.
Oversee the trade lifecycle for long and short positions, partnering with middle office, operations, and prime brokers.
Collaborate with technologists, strategists, and researchers to enhance portfolio construction, risk monitoring, and implementation tools.
Help launch new and innovative mandates in existing or new investment vehicles.
Contribute to thought leadership, highlighting strategies' effectiveness across client contexts.
Ensure compliance with all internal and external rules and regulations.
