Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Logistics Systems Engineer to join the Specialty Engineering Team in Woodland Hills, CA. The role is fully onsite on a 9/80 schedule and requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret clearance.

Relocation assistance may be available, and travel up to 10% is expected. The position supports end‑to‑end obsolescence management, risk mitigation, and technical support from concept through post‑production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 2+ years of experience in components engineering, DMSMS, logistics, design, or related field.
• Master’s degree in a related field is acceptable with 0+ years of experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; PC mastery required.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. Government Secret clearance.

Relocation assistance may be available.

Travel: 10% of the time.

What You’ll Get to Do

• Support the end‑to‑end management of component and product obsolescence across our product lines.
• Identify, mitigate, and coordinate risks to ensure product continuity and cost‑effective solutions for legacy and new designs.
• Assist as a technical resource from concept and proposal through development, test, production, and post‑production support.
• Generate DMSMS Health Reports to meet customer requirements.
• Solve complex obsolescence challenges in support of development and sustainment programs.
• Contribute to the Integrated Logistics Support team and continuously improve existing practices.
• Conduct DMSMS analysis and provide status updates to the Integrated Product Team (IPT).

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of experience in components engineering, DMSMS, logistics, design, or related field.
• Master’s degree plus 0+ years of experience in the same areas.
• PC mastery of Microsoft Windows Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret clearance.
• Full‑time onsite availability at the Woodland Hills, CA facility.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, parts lists, and component data sheets.
• Experience with Silicon Expert, IHS (formerly Accuris), Supplyframe, and GIDEP tools.
• Experience in military maintenance and sustainment support.
• Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Material Resource Planning (MRP) systems such as Teamcenter and SAP.
• Experience with Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) processes.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Self‑starter capable of performing tasks with minimal direction.
• Familiarity with SD‑22 DMSMS Guidebook, SAE STD‑0016, and other industry standards.
• Active U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance.

Compensation & Benefits

Primary Level Salary Range: $69,000.00 – $103,400.00. The salary may vary based on scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and in some cases, long‑term incentives.
