Job summary

Nova Space Solutions, LLC is seeking a Logistics Manager to oversee inventory, warehouse, transportation and customer service activities. You will lead and direct strategic planning for logistics and customer services, and perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.

Responsibilities include ensuring compliant transportation practices, coordinating materials scheduling, maintaining distribution operations, and driving process improvements while mentoring staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or Transportation/Logistics Management.
• 5+ years in leadership for logistics or supply chain role.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen to obtain NASA badge.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

Essential Job Duties:

• Responsible for overseeing the inventory management process, defining departmental strategies for appropriate inventory levels, eliminating obsolete and off-spec material, and reducing aging material.
• Determines and coordinates the performance plans that support SOP/SOW intra-inter business unit execution to awarded contracts and task orders.
• Develop methods and procedures for scheduling raw materials from suppliers to support manufacturing in achieving customer demand and minimizing cost impacts to NSS.
• Develop and maintain transportation system that ensures business needs are met.
• Manage customer service activities including order entry, customer satisfaction, interface with sales, production, labs, regulatory, and quality ensuring that NSS's customer service resolves critical customer complaints.
• Able to develop and interpret complex analysis of logistics; must be able to detect complex problems and recommend resolutions.
• Ensure Company follows laws and regulations regarding transportation, including hazardous materials. Review any legal issues pertaining to transportation/distribution.
• Maintain receiving, warehousing and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating and enforcing program operational and personnel policies and procedures.
• Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
• Motivate, organize and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure set productivity targets are met.
• Oversee the planned maintenance of vehicles.
• Participate in personnel development at all levels through talent acquisition, performance management, providing opportunity for high performers, education, communication, expectation setting, and self-actualization.
• Perform related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.

Job Requirements

Mandatory:

• Bachelor's degree in business or Transportation/Logistics Management.
• 5+ years in leadership for logistics or supply chain role.
• Related experience may be submitted for a degree.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen to obtain required NASA badge.
• Must be able to provide a certified Birth Certificate (with state seal), Passport, or INS Citizenship documents on date of hire.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in the English language, both verbal and written.
• Must have, and maintain, a valid driver's license.

• Proficient in standard business office software.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.

• Proven ability to think independently and handle multiple projects through to completion.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage staff.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Dexterity to operate office and field equipment as required by the position.
