Job summary

Vita Plus Corporation in Madison, WI, seeks an experienced Logistics Supervisor to oversee daily scheduling, dispatch, and supervision of our fleet team and equipment. You will ensure DOT compliance, manage loads, and drive safety and financial performance within transportation operations.

The role requires leadership of Delivery Associates, strong communication with customers, and daily use of transportation technology.

Qualifications

• Proven experience dispatching, managing, and leading drivers
• Proficiency in software as required
• Demonstrated proficiency in math and English
• Maintain confidentiality of all information
• Demonstrated expertise in managing and improving financial performance in transportation assets
• Ability to safely lift, carry, and stack feed bags up to 55 pounds

Responsibilities

• Schedule drivers and equipment for customer deliveries; as well as internal and external backhauls
• Involved in collaborative meetings discussing future planning and efficiencies in planning and dispatching equipment for Transportation Operations
• Federal and State DOT compliance of drivers, equipment and transportation processes
• Recruitment, development, and evaluation of Delivery Associates
• Manage delivery status of loads and drivers
• Regular communication with internal and external customers
• Daily usage of transportation technology (ELD, Cameras, GPS)
• Lead all Delivery Staff’s safety and food safety initiatives: training, inspections and accident investigations
• Conduct, at minimum, Quarterly Risk and Safety Meetings
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Job description

The logistics supervisor of our Distribution Center in Madison, Wisconsin will oversee daily scheduling, dispatch and supervision of our fleet team and equipment. This includes ensuring federal and state compliance of drivers, equipment and transportation processes. Additional responsibilities include managing delivery loads, usage of transportation technology, fuel tax data collection and adherence to safe handling practices. A successful candidate will have experience managing transportation teams, high communication skills and demonstrated experience contributing to financial performance.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Proven experience dispatching, managing, and leading drivers
• Proficiency in software as required
• Demonstrated proficiency in math and English
• Maintain confidentiality of all information
• Demonstrated expertise in managing and improving financial performance in transportation assets
• Has the ability to safely lift, carry, and stack feed bags occasionally moving up to 55 pounds.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Office environment using computer keyboard and telephone
• Warehouse/Mill equipment staging area/parking lot
• Environmentally controlled warehouses
• Ability to alternate sitting or standing during the day
