Job description

Overview

Responsibilities
  • Assist in overseeing daily logistics, transportation, and order fulfillment activities.
  • Support planning and execution of inbound and outbound shipments to meet service level expectations.
  • Coordinate with warehouse operations to align shipping priorities and capacity.
  • Support relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, and 3PL partners; monitor performance, service issues, and corrective actions.
  • Assist with contract compliance and documentation requirements.
  • Track and analyze logistics KPIs (transportation costs, on‑time delivery, service levels); prepare routine reports and dashboards for leadership review.
  • Identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with shipping regulations, supporting accurate documentation for domestic and international shipments.
  • Support safety and compliance teams for audits, inspections; confirm accuracy with delivery logs, route sheets, DVIRs, DOT HOS, and required paperwork.
  • Maintain driver qualification files and support annual driving record reviews and safety evaluations.
  • Assist in continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, efficiency, and service improvement.
  • Participate in special projects, peak planning, product launch coordination; help implement and adopt ERP, WMS, and logistics technology tools.
  • Provide daily guidance and support to logistics coordinators or clerical staff.
  • Serve as backup to the Logistics Manager as needed; collaborate with procurement, production, sales, and customer service.
  • Monitor logistics budgets and prepare regular KPI reports.
  • Plan and coordinate logistics activities during peak periods, product launches, or special projects.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent combination).
  • 3–5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or warehouse operations.
  • Working knowledge of logistics, inventory management, and transportation processes.
  • Experience using ERP, WMS, or TMS systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience supporting domestic and international logistics operations.
  • Familiarity with lean logistics or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • APICS (CPIM/CSCP) or Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Frequently sit, talk, hear, and occasionally walk and stand.
  • Possibly push or lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Work in a professional office environment with standard office equipment.
Travel

This role requires up to 50% domestic travel.

Location

This full‑time, exempt position is located in Stockton, CA.

Compensation

Annual base salary range: $71,900 – $115,000.
