Job summary

Vestas seeks a Logistics Supervisor to lead daily warehouse operations supporting turbine production through inbound, outbound, and internal logistics. You will manage inventory accuracy, allocate labor and materials, and drive continuous improvement with data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience in Logistics, Operations, Supply Chain, Warehouse Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations.
  • Supervisory experience or demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop teams.
  • Completion of required HSE and warehouse safety training or the ability to obtain certification.
  • Experience with inventory control, material flow, shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations.
  • Proven ability to drive continuous improvement through data analysis, problem-solving, root cause investigation, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of MRP, ERP, timekeeping, and supply chain systems.
  • Ability to maintain a safe, compliant, and productive work environment.
  • Ability to utilize continuous improvement methodologies, including RCA, 5 Why, CAPA, Kaizen, and other structured problem-solving techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily warehouse operations, including inbound, outbound, and internal logistics to support production schedules and customer requirements.
  • Manage inventory accuracy through effective transaction controls, cycle counting, audits, and corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain warehouse storage strategies that optimize material flow and reduce handling.
  • Allocate labor, equipment, and materials to meet production and customer demands while balancing workload and resources.
  • Monitor warehouse performance through KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and inventory management.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, warehouse procedures, and company policies.
  • Foster a safe work environment by enforcing HSE requirements and ensuring certifications remain current.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop team members through hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and succession planning.

Team Leader | Full-Time | Supply Chain and Logistics

The Logistics Supervisor is responsible to oversee, and coordinate activities of workers concerned with shipping and movement of turbine blades, storing, inventorying, ordering, receiving, issuing materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts, in stockroom, warehouse, or yard.

What does a Logistics Supervisor do?

  • Lead daily warehouse operations, including inbound, outbound, and internal logistics activities, to support production schedules and customer requirements.
  • Manage inventory accuracy through effective transaction controls, cycle counting, audits, and corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain warehouse storage strategies that optimize material flow, reduce handling, and support operational efficiency.
  • Allocate labor, equipment, and materials to meet production and customer demands while balancing workload and resources.
  • Monitor warehouse performance through the development and utilization of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and implement continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, service levels, and inventory management.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, warehouse procedures, and company policies.
  • Ensure employee certifications, permits, training requirements, and qualifications remain current and compliant with site and regulatory requirements.
  • Foster a safe work environment by enforcing HSE requirements, maintaining certifications, and ensuring employee qualifications remain current.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop team members through hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and succession planning to meet and exceed internal and external customer expectations.
  • Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, trust, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure material availability and support operational objectives.
  • Lead improvement projects utilizing Root Cause Analysis (RCA), 5 Why, CAPA and change management methodologies, with a strong attention to detail and focus on improving operational efficiency, inventory accuracy, safety, quality, and team performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and warehouse management systems.
  • Ability to lead and develop teams while driving operational results.
  • Ability to manage daily warehouse, inventory, and logistics operations.
  • Ability to allocate labor, materials, and resources to meet business needs.
  • Ability to maintain inventory accuracy and efficient material flow.
  • Ability to enforce safety standards and maintain a safe, compliant work environment.
  • Must be able to see and hear alarms, timers, and follow verbal instructions.
  • Must be able to wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for assigned tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, or related field.
  • Experience managing inventory accuracy, warehouse storage strategies, and material allocation planning.
  • Experience leading Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality, productivity, and operational efficiency.
  • Background in transportation, shipping, and hazardous materials handling.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and warehouse optimization practices.

Must be able to tolerate an environment where chemicals and materials are used within OSHA guidelines. Regularly required to stand and walk. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms. Occasional climbing on/off ladders, stairs, and equipment. Occasional kneeling, bending and reaching. Ability to read and comprehend Work Process Instructions and translate that into the ability to perform the tasks required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.

Shift: Night Shift 5:45pm - 6:15am

Compensation Range: $75,000 - $105,000 annually ($6000 annual night differtial)
