Uber Freight seeks a Logistics Specialist for our Cross Dock Center of Excellence to master cross-dock logistics, ensure FIFO compliance, and maintain on-time shipments while safeguarding the customer budget. Responsibilities

• Master the Cycle: manage full lifecycle of an order—from inbound load building to outbound tendering—using our advanced TMS and collaborating with WMS platforms to maximize peak facility potential.
• FIFO & Freight Flow Ownership: own freight planning through the cross-dock facility using FIFO principles to maintain throughput and avoid dwell times.
• Strategic Sourcing & Scheduling: build carrier relationships, leverage pre-planned routes, and select low-cost, efficient providers to align dock schedules for continuous delivery.
• Data-Driven Problem Solving: identify performance trends, resolve shipment errors, manage ASN/EDI data flows, and CSV uploads for non-EDI information.
• Act as an Advisor: train new users on TMS/WMS and document SOPs for cross-dock operations.
• Collaborative Resolution: liaise between shippers, receivers, facility operators, and carriers to resolve transloading challenges.

What The Candidate Will Do

• Strategic Sourcing & Scheduling: Build powerhouse relationships with customer-selected carriers. Leverage pre-planned static routes and select the lowest-cost, most efficient providers from participating carriers, ensuring dock schedules align for continuous delivery.
• Data-Driven Problem Solving: Proactively identify performance trends, resolve shipment errors, and prevent dock bottlenecks. Ensure customer freight visibility by managing ASN/EDI data flows, as well as CSV shipment file uploads for non-EDI information.
• Act as an Advisor: Train new users on our systems (TMS/WMS interactions) and document standard operating procedures that set the gold standard for cross-dock operational excellence.
• Collaborative Resolution: Serve as the critical link between shippers, receivers, facility operators, and carriers to resolve complex transloading and logistical challenges with professional poise.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in transportation, logistics, or cross-dock operations (A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or a related field may be considered in lieu of experience).
• Foundational working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory flow principles, including FIFO.
• Intermediate proficiency with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management.
• 3+ years of deep experience in the logistics industry, with specific experience in a cross-dock or fast-paced transload facility.
• Proven ability to collaborate between TMS and WMS systems to drive operational alignment.
• Analytical Mindset: Familiarity with BI and Tableau reporting to turn data into actionable insights for facility and freight performance.
• Advanced proficiency with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office Suite.
