Job summary

Kroger is seeking a dedicated maintenance and sanitation teammate to support the distribution center. You will keep aisles clean, help ensure safe operations, and remove damaged product as needed. You will also use a hand-held scanner to identify misplaced items and help keep the DC organized.

The role requires attention to safety, the ability to follow instructions, and flexibility to work weekends or varying shifts to meet business needs. This full-time position is based in Bluffton, IN.

Qualifications

  • High school education or GED plus related work experience in a fast-paced DC setting.
  • Ability to carry out written and/or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability and willingness to move with a sense of purpose and urgency.
  • Attention to surroundings and dedication to workplace safety.

Responsibilities

  • Sweep and mop aisles and walkways for safe, efficient operations.
  • Pick up and discard debris in the aisles including plastic, corrugated, paper and split products.
  • Constantly walk and monitor aisles for damaged, split, improperly placed product and respond.
  • Remove damaged product, repackages or discards as appropriate.
  • Operate hand-held scanner to identify misplaced product and place it correctly in the DC.
  • Dump garbage cans in DC.

Job description

Responsible for providing maintenance, sanitation and safety support to the DC by maintaining clear, clean aisles required for efficient operations. Perform routine maintenance activities including mopping, sweeping, repacking and removing damaged product. The company also requires that all employees perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws. Role model and demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety of others.

Responsibilities
  • Essential Job Functions:
    • Sweep and mop aisles and walkways as needed for safe, efficient operations.
    • Pick up and properly discard debris in the aisles including plastic, corrugated, paper and split products.
    • Constantly walks and monitors aisles for damaged, split, improperly placed product and responds.
    • Remove damaged product, repackages or discards as appropriate.
    • Operate hand-held scanner to identify misplaced product and have product properly placed in DC.
    • Dump garbage cans in DC.
    • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
Qualifications
  • Desired Previous Job Experience:
    • High school education or general education degree (GED) plus related work experience in a fast-pace DC setting.
