Job summary

Penske Logistics is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead a team of drivers and hourly associates at our Plainfield, IN location. You will supervise daily operations, including loading/unloading, customer service, and dispatch, while driving process improvements and maintaining safety and compliance.

The role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with a focus on meeting customer objectives and cost targets.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership qualities with strong interpersonal skills.
• Must work efficiently and independently with strong time management and organizational skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to listen actively.
• Ability to manage problems, think critically, and make independent decisions.
• Ability to drive process improvement and lead change.
• Proficient computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Owns and takes responsibility to run the operation with urgency.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership to hourly staff to meet daily tasks and customer service goals.
• Supervise drivers and ensure safety, scheduling, dispatch, and documentation compliance.
• Conduct team meetings and provide coaching to improve performance and productivity.
• Monitor attendance, productivity, and performance standards; implement corrective actions as needed.
• Support hiring processes and participate in customer meetings when required.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies and prevent overtime through effective scheduling.
• Maintain site safety practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
