Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Logistics Manager to oversee all logistics operations, including the efficient management of national and international shipping and receiving, as well as the storage of both raw materials and finished products. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with customer, quality, and legal requirements while collaborating with Sales, Operations, and various departments.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Logistics Management: Direct and supervise the preparation, labeling, final inspection, timely pickup, and shipment of orders, including hazardous and non-hazardous materials, along with all related documentation.
- Strategy Development: Create shipping and storage strategies, considering restrictions and limitations. Collaborate with the EHS Department to ensure safe separation of reactive chemicals.
- Material Handling: Receive and verify raw materials, packaging materials, and manufactured products, confirming item counts and lot numbers.
- Warehouse Oversight: Supervise and evaluate Warehouse Operators, enforce policies, and administer discipline as necessary.
- Inventory Control: Review material receipts against purchase orders, maintain accurate inventory through cycle counts, and ensure proper labeling and documentation of products.
- Cost Management: Control department costs in alignment with the budget.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure warehouse safety, industrial hygiene, and ongoing efficiency improvements.
- Freight Management: Evaluate freight companies, manage freight invoices, monitor costs, and handle claims.
- Attendance and Accountability: Maintain regular attendance and punctuality while promoting a culture of safety and efficiency.
- Team Leadership: Foster teamwork and rapport within the organization, demonstrating respect and accountability.
- Continuous Learning: Cultivate a mindset of ongoing learning and teaching within the team.
- Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned by TIB.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of logistics experience within a manufacturing environment, with international exposure.
- Hands-on experience in inventory management.
- IMDG/IATA certification for handling, packaging, and shipping hazardous materials.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications and ERP systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with a unionized workforce.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Workdays are Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but core hours from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. must be maintained, totaling 37.5 hours weekly.
Work Environment
This role operates in both industrial and administrative settings, utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
Physical Demands
The role requires occasional standing, walking, sitting, handling objects, reaching with hands and arms, and climbing stairs. The employee must be able to lift or move office products and supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.
