Job summary

Cymbiotika is hiring a Logistics Manager to own and optimize end-to-end logistics across a multi-site network in a fast-growing CPG startup. You’ll manage inbound shipments, outbound fulfillment, and inter-site transfers, while building scalable, cost-efficient logistics systems.

Qualifications

• 4–8+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or fulfillment operations (CPG, retail, or e‑commerce strongly preferred).
• Proven startup experience is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of domestic and international freight (parcel, LTL, FTL).
• Experience with customer routing guides and retail compliance portals.
• Hands-on experience with ERP and/or WMS systems (NetSuite, SAP, or similar).
• Demonstrated track record of cost reduction and process improvement.

RoleOverview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Logistics Manager to own and optimize our end-to-end logistics operations in a fast-growing consumer packaged goods (CPG) startup. This role is critical in ensuring seamless product flow across multiple sites, supporting both customer fulfillment and internal supply chain efficiency.

You will be responsible for managing inbound shipments from contract manufacturers, outbound customer shipments (including customer portal execution and compliance), and internal transfers across a multi-location network. You will also oversee parcel carrier relationships and drive continuous improvement across transportation and logistics operations.

This role requires a hands-on operator who thrives in a fast-moving environment and is passionate about building scalable, cost‑efficient logistics systems.

Inbound Logistics

• Manage inbound shipments from domestic manufacturers
• Coordinate with suppliers, 3PLs, and freight forwarders to ensure on-time delivery
• Track and resolve shipment delays, discrepancies, and documentation issues
• Maintain visibility of inbound inventory flow into distribution centers or warehouses

Outbound & Customer Fulfillment

• Own outbound shipping operations to retail, wholesale, and direct customers
• Execute and manage customer-specific shipping requirements through various customer portals (e.g., routing guides, labeling, ASN submissions, compliance portals)
• Ensure high accuracy and on-time performance in order fulfillment
• Partner with customer service and sales teams to resolve shipping issues

Internal Transfers & Multi-Site Operations

• Coordinate inventory transfers between warehouses, co‑packers, and distribution centers
• Optimize inter-company and inter-location stock movement to support service levels and reduce cost
• Maintain accuracy of transfer orders and system transactions across ERP/WMS platforms

Parcel & Carrier Management

• Own relationships with parcel carriers (e.g., UPS, FedEx, regional carriers)
• Negotiate rates, monitor performance, and identify cost‑saving opportunities
• Analyze shipping data to optimize carrier mix, packaging, and service levels
• Manage parcel billing accuracy and audit freight invoices

Process Improvement & Cost Optimization

• Identify and implement process improvements across logistics and fulfillment workflows
• Develop reporting dashboards for transportation KPIs (cost per shipment, OTIF, transit times, etc.)
• Lead initiatives to reduce logistics spend while maintaining or improving service levels
• Support scaling infrastructure as the business grows (systems, SOPs, automation)

Additional Duties: Perform other related duties, responsibilities, and special projects as assigned based on business needs and organizational priorities.

Work Location & Schedule

This position follows an enforced onsite schedule, requiring team members to be present in our San Diego, California office at least five days per week (Monday–Friday). This role also requires attendance at all in‑person monthly team meetings and quarterly company events.

Physical Requirements

This role primarily involves office and operational/warehouse-based work and requires the ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the facility. The role may occasionally require lifting, carrying, or moving items weighing up to 30‑50 pounds, such as inventory, shipments, packages, or supplies. Employees should be able to sit or stand for extended periods, perform frequent computer‑based tasks, and work in an environment where prolonged exposure to a computer screen, warehouse activity, and varying temperatures may occur.

Compensation & Total Rewards

The salary range for this position is $100,000-110,000 annually. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
