Job summary

DENSO North Carolina site is seeking a Warehouse Associate to support receiving, staging, and shipping of parts and finished goods. You will transfer parts to production areas, inspect shipments, and maintain accurate records in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include operating forklifts and related equipment, ensuring quality standards, and collaborating with team members to meet production schedules. Overtime and shift work may be required.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in basic math and able to read shipping documents.

Job Description

Job Summary: To prepare the department so team members can receive incoming parts, transfer needed parts to production areas, and ship finished products as safely and quickly as possible in compliance with the quality policy.

Major Responsibilities
  • Perform different jobs within the department.
  • Understand and follow the work standards and be able to train new associates in the area.
  • Perform quality checks as outlined in the work standards.
  • Maintain good communication with team members.
  • Inspect incoming parts and outgoing shipments to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Operate forklift, electric tugger, inline lift, scissor lift, change battery, and walk‑behind lift.
  • Complete bills of lading, packing slips, and other shipping reports.
  • Position associates in the area according to receiving and shipment schedules.
  • Work shift and overtime, with punctual presence (attendance and timeliness) on assigned work days.
  • Be alert in an area with constant moving equipment.
  • Effectively communicate process and product problems.
  • Demonstrate setup and maintain the work in every process of the current area.
  • Oversee cycle counts and investigations, reporting to the specialist or team leader.
  • Support associates by providing required duties to meet team leader directives.
Minor Responsibilities
  • Work teamwork and participate in company activities such as IATF16949, ISO9001, ISO14001 and employee involvement.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, internal departments, and related outside resources.
  • Understand and comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate practical knowledge of the employee handbook and familiarity with company structure and philosophy.
  • Work in a manufacturing environment and perform duties with minimal supervision.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Maintain 5’s standards: keep good housekeeping and clean throughout the department.
  • May require some travel.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent (NC state or federal educational requirements).
  • Successfully pass required testing to operate material handling equipment.
Key Competencies
  • Proficient understanding and working knowledge of personal computers and inventory management systems.
  • Outstanding safety record.
  • Proficient arithmetic skills to complete, interpret and analyze charts and graphs.
  • Ability to read and demonstrate an understanding of operator instructions.
  • Writing skills as demonstrated through completion of the employment application.
  • Effective verbal, listening and communication skills.
  • Ability to routinely perform core job tasks within the logistics section.
Core Job Skills in Shipping and Receiving

Shipping Section – Possess Job Skills required to:

  • Accurately stage and prepare customer shipments.
  • Accurately load customer shipments.
  • Accurately input and process customer ASN’S.
  • Accurately verify, process and input finished goods.

Receiving Section – Possess Job Skills required to:

  • Accurately unload, receive and stock incoming import and domestic component material.
  • Accurately disburse material to manufacturing.
  • Safely unload and receive raw material or accurately process and receive non‑direct material.
  • Accurately scan in receipts and verify received into Cigma.
Physical Requirements
  • Constant standing and moving 8‑12 hours per day.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and kneel.
  • Must be able to apply up to 66 lbs push/pull force unassisted.
  • Must be able to reach overhead.
  • Work in an environment with above and below normal temperatures.
