Job description

The Logistics Lead supports the Supervisor in inventory control and materials movement while ensuring the team follows procedures to meet the Company’s objectives for cost‑effective utilization of materials, safety, quality, and on‑time delivery of products and parts. The Lead is responsible for training and monitoring warehouse employees to ensure they understand and follow work instructions, perform tasks efficiently, accurately, and safely, and maintain good housekeeping procedures.

Position Responsibilities
  • Support the Supervisor by assisting with leading the department in receiving, storage, and shipping of finished goods, accessories, and service parts to accomplish daily goals and objectives.
  • Train and direct employees on the safe operation of forklifts and reach trucks, efficient product transfer, proper scanner usage, and shipping procedures.
  • Process factory transfers and outbound FTLs using WMS and complete LTL and Will Calls.
  • Assist with warehouse inventory and resolve inventory inaccuracies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of daily transactions and reports.
  • Minimize damage and inventory discrepancies by safely handling products and ensuring correct product, quantity, and location of transfers.
  • Identify areas of improvement and participate in implementing continuous improvement processes.
  • Communicate urgent items to the supervisor/manager immediately.
  • Demonstrate commitment to all safety and quality standards at all times.
  • Attend and participate in daily safety meetings and follow all safety procedures and policies.
  • Complete daily pre- and post-shift inspections of forklifts/reach trucks.
  • Maintain good housekeeping by keeping warehouse areas clean and organized.
  • Perform additional duties/projects as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of warehouse systems and practices, including processing inbound and outbound FTLs, Will Calls, WMS, and scanning equipment.
  • Certified and experienced in operating forklifts and reach trucks (requires successful completion of in‑house training).
  • Strong knowledge of PKMS, MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), and MAPICS.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with internal and external customers and departments.
  • Ability to train, coach, and mentor others, fostering positive working relationships.
  • High attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize.
  • Problem‑solving skills and compliance‑oriented mindset.
  • Good judgment, decision‑making skills, strong work ethic, and integrity.
  • Results‑oriented, dedicated to excellence, and a sense of urgency in achieving business objectives.
Experience
  • 5+ years of warehouse experience and operating industrial lift trucks.
Education
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Forklift and Reach Truck certification (successful completion of in‑house training).

Physical Requirements / Working Environment
  • Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • High‑volume DC warehouse environment with forklift traffic.
  • May require hearing protection in noisy areas.
  • Ability to stand for long periods (up to 8–10 hours).
  • Repetitive movements, good eye/hand coordination, and operation of hand tools and power tools.
  • May require standing (up to 90%), walking (up to 10%), stooping, bending, reaching, twisting, and turning.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and/or move up to 50 lbs.
