Logistics Integrated Education and Training Instructor located at the Putnamville Correctional Facility in Greencastle, IN.

General Purpose/Position Summary: The CTE Instructor provides high-quality, hands-on technical training to incarcerated adult learners. The instructor delivers curriculum-aligned lessons, maintains required documentation, engages industry partners, supports credential attainment, and collaborates with Ivy Tech and IDOC to promote re-entry success. The logistics course provides students with the foundational and mid-level knowledge they will need to understand the world of supply chain and related core competencies. This course will also integrate Adult Basic Education subjects and material.

This is a full time teaching position located at the Putnamville Correctional Facility in Greencastle, IN.

Major Responsibilities

• Instructional Delivery: Provide high-quality, standards-aligned instruction.
• Instructional Delivery: Teach hands-on lab skills supporting industry certification and workplace readiness.
• Instructional Delivery: Begin and end class on time per DOC, facility, and Ivy Tech schedules.
• Instructional Delivery: Use instructional strategies that build technical and employability skills.
• Instructional Delivery: Present material clearly and accurately.
• Instructional Delivery: Encourage active participation and collaborative work.
• Instructional Delivery: Differentiate instruction for learners with diverse readiness levels.
• Instructional Delivery: Support students requiring documented accommodations.
• Instructional Delivery: Use different modalities to increase learning opportunities.
• Career & Employability Skill Development: Integrate employability and soft skills into instruction.
• Career & Employability Skill Development: Collaborate with HIRE and HIRE Academy coordinators.
• Career & Employability Skill Development: Engage trade professionals and employers for presentations and demonstrations.
• Student Progress & Assessment: Monitor and document student progress toward learning outcomes.
• Student Progress & Assessment: Assess skills using performance, project-based, and written assessments.
• Student Progress & Assessment: Provide timely and unbiased feedback.
• Student Progress & Assessment: Administer TABE and other exams as needed.
• Student Progress & Assessment: Track completions, credentials, and exit status.

• Documentation, Reporting & CQI: Maintain records as required by Ivy Tech, IDOC, and facility.

• Safety, Inventory & Equipment Management: Complete and maintain tool, chemical, and equipment inventories.
• Safety, Inventory & Equipment Management: Ensure secure storage and compliance with IDOC security.
• Safety, Inventory & Equipment Management: Identify supply/equipment needs and submit purchase requests.
• Safety, Inventory & Equipment Management: Maintain equipment in working order; report issues promptly.
• Program Operations & Communication: Collaborate with site and program leadership.Program Operations & Communication: Participate in meetings and professional development.Program Operations & Communication: Coordinate testing and certification scheduling.Program Operations & Communication: Communicate student status changes, removals, and completions.Program Operations & Communication: Support program marketing and student recruitment.Program Operations & Communication: Communicate with HIRE Coordinators on dates for Academies needed.Classroom Culture & Student Support: Create a positive learning environment.
