Job summary

Akima Global Logistics (AGL) seeks a Logistics Analyst to support an Army equipment turn-in site by analyzing logistics processes, ensuring compliance with AR 710-2, AR 735-5, and ISO 9001:2015, and delivering data-driven recommendations to improve efficiency and accountability.

Responsibilities include developing logistics strategies, tracking KPIs, preparing site reports for the Site Manager and QA staff, and supporting audits and government reporting. Some travel (up to 25%) may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent military logistics experience accepted.
  • 3–5 years in logistics, supply chain, or Army property accountability operations.
  • Experience with U.S. Army contractor or military supply/turn-in site preferred.
  • Familiarity with Army regulations AR 710-2, AR 735-5, DA PAM 710-2-1 and ISO 9001:2015.

Job description

The Logistics Analyst supports the equipment turn-in site by analyzing, monitoring, and improving supply chain, property accountability, and transportation processes. This position ensures compliance with U.S. Army logistics regulations, contract requirements, and ISO 9001:2015 standards, while providing data-driven recommendations to improve efficiency, reduce risks, and enhance accountability of government property. The Logistics Analyst serves as a key resource for reporting, audits, and performance measurement at the site.

Responsibilities
  • Develops logistics strategies and recommends changes to processes to keep programs ahead of schedule.
  • Assesses, manages and works to reduce risk factors. Enhances workflow by analyzing and developing logistics plans that affect production, distribution, and inventory.
  • Creates and reviews procedures for distribution and inventory management to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize cost.
  • Conducts distribution and network studies, monitors inventory and analyzes requirements to develop strategies to achieve desired delivery times and order fill rates.
  • Maintains appropriate records and prepares reports. Coordinates logistics activities with internal/external customers. Performs work under direct supervision.
  • Handles basic issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret logistics and supply chain data related to equipment receipt, inspection, inventory, and turn-in.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as processing times, inventory accuracy, loss/damage rates, and compliance metrics.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports for the Site Manager, COR (Contracting Officer’s Representative), and QA staff.
  • Support audits, inspections, and government reporting requirements with accurate data.
  • Identify trends, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies in supply, accountability, and transportation workflows.
  • Develop and recommend corrective actions to improve compliance and efficiency.
  • Support implementation of Lean Six Sigma or continuous improvement initiatives at the site.
  • Validate accuracy of property records, condition codes, and turn-in documentation (e.g., DA Form 1348-1A, DD Form 200).
  • Ensure compliance with Army regulations (AR 710-2, AR 735-5, DA PAM 710-2-1) and contract standards.
  • Monitor data in Army logistics systems (GCSS-Army, DPAS, LMP) to ensure timely and accurate entries.
  • Assist in resolving discrepancies in property accountability and inventory reconciliation.
  • Analyze transportation data to support equipment movement planning, convoy schedules, and cargo documentation.
  • Verify compliance with Defense Transportation Regulation (DTR) and Army transportation policies.
  • Recommend improvements to reduce delays, optimize routes, and enhance transportation efficiency.
  • Work with Quality Control Specialists to track nonconformances and corrective actions.
  • Provide analytical support for ISO 9001:2015 compliance and performance monitoring.
  • Contribute to development of site SOPs, checklists, and training materials.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform routine standing, walking, bending, and reaching tasks in warehouse and field environments. Must also meet all physical requirements necessary to perform assigned duties, including working in extreme heat or cold, high, or low humidity, blowing sand and dust, confined spaces, heights, and other inclement weather conditions. This position involves working both indoors and outdoors, periodic overtime, and exposure to heat, dust, cold, and adverse weather conditions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field (preferred). Equivalent military logistics experience accepted.
  • 3–5 years in logistics, supply chain, or Army property accountability operations.
  • Experience with U.S. Army contractor or military supply/turn-in site preferred.
  • Army supply and property accountability regulations (AR 710-2, AR 735-5, DA PAM 710-2-1).
  • Army logistics systems: GCSS-Army, LMP, DPAS, TC-AIMS.
  • ISO 9001:2015 quality management principles.
  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, charts), Access, or other analytical tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication for reporting and presentations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Army officials, contractors, and QA staff.
  • Must have a REAL ID.
  • Basic proficiency in the English language (reading and writing).
  • Must receive a favorable background check and drug testing results.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with proof of vehicle insurance.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Must be able to obtain Tier1/ NACI (Public trust) background eligibility.
  • Employees may be required to perform other duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to travel within the United States as required. This position requires travel up to 25% of the time.
