Job summary

Cuyahoga Community College is seeking a Logic tutor to work with students one-on-one or in small groups at Western Campus. The role focuses on fostering independent learning and helping students achieve their academic goals in topics such as critical thinking, intro to logic, ethics, and related areas.

The tutor will implement subject-specific strategies, adapt to diverse learning styles, and support use of learning materials and equipment.

Qualifications

• Education consistent with the department needs & minimum of associate’s degree in a related field of study.
• Ability to work with students one-on-one or in small groups.
• Familiarity with tutoring best practices and instructional strategies.

Responsibilities

• Provides one-on-one and small group tutoring support.
• Provides subject-specific content strategies attuned to different learning styles to help students understand key concepts.
• Assists with the use of equipment and learning materials needed for student success.
• Conducts class visits and publicizes the College’s tutoring services.
• Maintains accurate records in accordance with deadlines and completes paperwork.
• Assists with development and maintenance of departmental instructional materials.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
