Biltmore Estate is seeking a Lodging and Event Floral Designer to create and deliver fresh arrangements for guests and groups, and to execute decor for weddings and corporate events across the estate.

The role involves inventory management, design production, and installation across multiple venues, with weekend and overtime duties during events. Knowledge of florals and customer service is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• At least two years of floral or related experience preferred.
• Knowledge of flower varieties and care.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive with good judgment and ability to work with little supervision.
• Strong planning and organizational skills; ability to multi-task under deadlines.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a cargo van.

Responsabilités

• Design and deliver fresh arrangements and gift baskets for Lodging guests and groups.
• Process fresh floral for design work and maintain inventory in coolers.
• Prepare inventory hard goods for events (vases, candleholders, lanterns, etc.).
• Use company web-based platforms for orders and POS functions.
• Design, install, and strike event florals and décor across multiple venues within Biltmore Estate.
• Water and care for plants and orchids as needed.
• Assist with holiday enhancements and décor for Christmas across properties.
• Work overtime and weekends during event setup and removal as required.

Job DescriptionThe Lodging and Event Floral Designer position is responsible for taking and fulfilling guest orders for floral at all Lodging properties. They also support Lodging operations with fresh and permanent displays, fresh plants and holiday enhancements. The Lodging and Event Floral designers position is also responsible for all aspects of executing floral decor for events on Biltmore Estate including weddings, corporate groups, social and internal events. The designers will report to the Lodging and Event Floral Supervisor and coordinate with them to ensure deliverables meet deadlines and exceed expectations.Essential Job Duties:1. Designing and delivering fresh arrangements and gift baskets for Lodging guests and groups. Includes answering the phone and taking orders from guests and third parties. Also includes maintaining weekly fresh standing orders.2. Process fresh floral for use in design work. Includes cleaning buckets and maintaining fresh floral inventory in coolers.3. Pulling and preparing inventory hard good supplies for use for events. Includes cleaning vases, candleholders, lanterns etc for repeat use.4. Computer use includes use of company web-based and software platforms used for point-of-sale and managing orders.5. Design, deliver, install and strike event floral and décor which may include large on-site installations across multiple event venues within Biltmore Estate. 6. Some plant and orchid watering and care.7. Maintain and organize work, storage spaces, supplies and equipment.8. Assist with holiday enhancements at both Lodging properties. This can include workshops, design programs, décor, and fresh and silk arrangements. Includes planning, preparing and decorating properties for Christmas.9. Work overtime and weekends as required by supervisors and manager particularly during event set-up and removal.Qualifications:1. High School diploma or GED required.2. At least two years of experience in the floral or related field required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.3. Knowledge of flower varieties and care.4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.5. Ability to be proactive and take initiative. Must be able to exercise good judgment and perform duties with little supervision.6. Ability to work effectively as a team member to meet goals.7. Strong planning, organizational, and project and time management skills; must be able to multi-task effectively and prioritize under deadlines.Required Certifications (if any):8. Must have a valid driver's license and be at least 18 years old. Must be comfortable driving a cargo van.Physical Requirments:1. Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 75 pounds with assistance.2. Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time on hard services. (wood, concrete, brick)3. Comfortable working on ladders and scaffolding.4. Ability to work outdoors and inside in all types of weather with fluctuations in temperature and conditions
