Job summary

Curative is seeking a pediatrician for long-term locum coverage in Arizona, supporting pediatric urgent care and ED campuses with day, evening, and limited night shifts, plus weekend needs. Coverage is planned April 2027 through June 2028 across four sites with ED and urgent care coverage and no call requirements.

Shifts include 7, 8, and 10 hours; procedures include wound repair, I&D, LP, fracture/stabilization, and nasal/foreign body removal when in ED.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with valid licensure in Arizona
• Board Certified in Pediatrics or Board Eligible within 5 years
• Arizona license required; will wait for license with active IMLC LOQ
• Certifications: ATLS, BLS, DEA, PALS

Responsibilities

• Provide pediatrics coverage for urgent care and ED across multiple sites
• No call requirements; cover day, evening, and limited night shifts plus weekends
• Perform core ED procedures when needed: wound repair, I&D, lumbar puncture, fracture/stabilization, foreign body removal

Pediatrics locums coverage in Arizona, supporting pediatric urgent care and ED campuses with a mix of day, evening, and limited night shifts, plus weekend needs. Coverage is needed long term due to satellite hospital expansion.

Practice Setting

• 100 percent pediatric patient population
• Coverage may be across four urgent care sites and ED campuses, typically keeping physicians within a small geographic cluster of nearby sites
• Pediatric ED acuity includes management of critically ill neonates with neurologic, surgical, cardiac, and complex multisystem conditions
• Site volumes include approximately 75k visits per year at Thomas ED, 55k at Avondale ED, 30k at Arrowhead ED, and a newer Mercy Gilbert site projected at 20k in year one

Schedule

• Combination of 7, 8, and 10 hour shifts
• Shift mix includes days, evenings, and minimally nights
• Weekend coverage included
• Also open to locums covering ED shifts

Cases and Procedures

• Repair of wounds and incision and drainage
• If working ED shifts, core procedures may include lumbar puncture, stabilization of fracture or dislocation, and nasal or aural foreign body removal
