Job summary

Weatherby Healthcare is seeking a locum tenens general surgeon for a Florida assignment with Mon–Sun 8 am–4 pm shifts and after-hours beeper coverage. The role includes inpatient and outpatient rounding for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients, with trauma surgery, OB/GYN procedures, and GI endoscopy.

Compensation is competitive. Weatherby provides paid malpractice, travel and housing expenses, and 24/7 consultant support to assist in staffing and scheduling.

Qualifications

• General surgeon with comprehensive skills in laparoscopic and open techniques.
• Ability to perform OB/GYN procedures (C-section, D&C, hysterectomy).
• Gastrointestinal endoscopy experience (upper/lower colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy).

Responsibilities

• Inpatient and outpatient rounding for adult, pediatric, and neonate patients.
• Trauma surgery coverage included.
• Mon-Sun, 8 am–4 pm shifts with beeper call coverage; call from home up to 7 days per month after hours and weekends.
