Job summary

Northeast Healthcare Recruitment, Inc. (NEHCR) seeks a Locums Emergency Medicine Physician to cover shifts in Overland Park, Kansas. The role involves 9-hour shifts, including nights and weekends, in a Level II trauma ED with ~1.6–1.8 patients/hour and a 35% admission rate.

ABEM certification, active KS license, and DEA are required. Two shadow/orientation days with EMR training are provided. Travel, hotel, and related expenses are reimbursed 100% on top of the rate.

Qualifications

• ABEM board certification is required.
• Active Kansas medical license is required.
• DEA registration is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide coverage in Overland Park ED with 9-hour shifts.
• Day and night coverage as needed, including weekends.

Job description

We are seeking a Locums EmergencyMedicine Physician to provide coverage in Overland Park,Kansas.

Schedule:

• Rotational shifts (morning, mid, night; varied hours)
• 9-hour shifts, including weekends and nights as needed
• No call coverage required
• Orientation: 2-day shadow period with EMRtraining

Position Details:

• 9-hour shifts
• Day and night coverage needed
• Minimum 2 years of EM experience
• ABEM required
• 2 shadow/orientation shifts
• Fast-paced, high-efficiency ED

Emergency Department:

• 24 ED beds + 7 vertical pathway spaces +2 intake rooms
• Volume: 1.6–1.8 patients/hour
• Primarily ESI 2s and 3s
• Level II Trauma Center
• Nurse/APP triage for lower-acuity patients
• ~35% admission rate
• Minimum daytime staffing: 1 physician + 1 APP
• Standard ER support staff

• Accredited Chest Pain Center and PrimaryStroke Center with rapid response protocols

Additional Details:

• Position will primarily be at the main ED
• Two associated FSERs see approximately 13–17 patients/day each
• Some hours may potentially be allocated to the FSERs, TBD
