Northeast Healthcare Recruitment, Inc. (NEHCR) seeks a Locums Emergency Medicine Physician to cover a busy ED in Council Bluffs, Iowa. This opportunity offers flexible scheduling in a collaborative clinical environment with a moderate annual patient volume.

Shifts are 4–12 per month, 8 hours each, with blocks 6:30 AM–2:30 PM, 1:30 PM–10:30 PM and 9:30 PM–6:30 AM. Epic is used for documentation and Dragon for dictation; no scribes are provided.

Qualifications

• Must have active Iowa medical license.
• Must have active DEA license.
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and ATLS certifications.
• Emergency Medicine experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine emergency medicine care to patients of varying acuity.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting to the ED.
• Respond to codes and other emergent situations.
• Perform appropriate emergency procedures and interventions.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, consultants, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Locums physicians will have limited trauma responsibilities.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation using Epic and Dragon.

PatientVolume & Acuity

• Approximately 77% discharge rate
• Approximately 14% admission rate
• Approximately 4% left beforetreatment complete
• Approximately 2.8% observation
• Approximately 2.5% transfer
