Job summary

Weatherby Healthcare is seeking a locum tenens physician for inpatient CV/thoracic surgery assignments nationwide. Roles include rounding, admissions, and performing open and endoscopic procedures on an on-call basis.

The position requires handling occasional phone consultations, 4–5 cases per shift, and a 20-minute response time on a beeper call. Weatherby provides paid malpractice insurance and prepaid travel and housing expenses.

Qualifications

• Inpatient setting experience with rounding and admissions.
• CABG (on pump and off pump), valvular repair, aneurysm repair.
• TAVR, LVAD, AICD placement, lung resection including VATs.
• Bronchoscopy, vent management, esophagus and diaphragm surgeries.

Responsibilities

• Call-only assignment with beeper requiring 20-minute response time.
• 4–5 phone consults, 4–5 patients seen, 4–5 admissions per 24-hour call.
