Northeast Healthcare Recruitment, Inc. (NEHCR) is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a locum tenens opportunity in NeuroCritical Care in Boston, Massachusetts, joining a specialized multidisciplinary team caring for complex neurology and neurosurgery patients in a high-acuity Neurosciences Intensive Care Unit.

Schedule includes approximately 3–4 twelve-hour shifts per week (about 40 hours), rotating day, night, and weekend coverage, with compensation of $120.00

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts NP or PA license.
• Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program.
• Current national certification appropriate to the provider's discipline.
• NeuroCritical Care, critical care, neurology, or neurosurgery experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to work rotating days, nights, and weekends.
• Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with acute neurological and neurosurgical conditions.
• Provide comprehensive care as part of a multidisciplinary NeuroCritical Care team.
• Participate in daily rounds with attending physicians, fellows, residents, and APPs.
• Perform patient histories and comprehensive neurological examinations.
• Develop and implement treatment plans and coordinate specialty consultations.
• Communicate treatment plans and provide education to patients and families.
• Perform inpatient consultations and maintain accurate EMR documentation.
• Perform procedures appropriate to training and credentialing, including central and arterial line placement, intubation, lumbar puncture, lumbar drain placement and removal, NGT placement, wound care and packing, spine brace placement.
