Job summary

HiredFirst is seeking a Primary Care Physician (MD or DO) for a full-time locum/contract role in Nowata, Oklahoma. The provider will deliver comprehensive primary and acute care to both adult and pediatric patients in an outpatient setting.

The ideal candidate works independently with a steady patient volume, enjoys a consistent weekday schedule, and benefits from strong clinical support with no call, no overtime, and no floating.

Qualifications

• MD or DO required.
• Active Oklahoma medical license required — no exceptions.
• Comfortable caring for patients of all ages.
• Family Medicine or Internal Medicine training preferred; Emergency Medicine may be considered.
• Board certification/eligibility or active participation in certification process.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS required.
• Cerner EMR experience preferred but not required.
• Tribal or rural health experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary care to adult and pediatric patients.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat routine, chronic, and acute conditions.
• Manage approximately 18–24 scheduled patient appointments per day after orientation.
• Provide routine and drop-in/acute care.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Order and interpret diagnostic testing; prescribe medications.
• Coordinate referrals as appropriate and manage chronic needs.
• Maintain timely, accurate medical documentation.
• Collaborate with nursing, case management, and other staff.
• Work independently while upholding high standards of care.
