Job summary

Midland Clinic is seeking a vascular surgeon to participate in inpatient rounding and outpatient clinic activities in Midland, Michigan. You will perform procedures across catheterization labs, interventional radiology, and hybrid operating rooms, while providing regular on-call coverage including holidays.

Availability

• Location: Midland Clinic
• Dates:

Weekend Call

• Weekend Call: 1:3, with occasional coverage of 2 weekends per month

Clinical Duties

• Participate in inpatient rounding and outpatient clinic activities
• Conduct procedures and surgery in catheterization, interventional radiology, hybrid operating rooms, and vascular labs
• Provide week and weekend on-call coverage, along with holiday call responsibilities
• Perform vascular testing interpretation

Orientation & Training

• One day of orientation
• Two days of proctoring at the outset

Clinic Volume

• Patient Encounters:
  • Focus on new and established visit types
  • Projected clinic volume for 2025: 5,995 patient visits, collectively managed by three surgeons

Clinical Support Structure

• Advanced Practice Providers: 4 APPs available for support (note: supervision of APPs is not required)

Technical Proficiencies

• Electronic Medical Records (EMR): Proficient in using EPIC and Dragon for dictation

Qualifications

• Required Certifications:
  • Board Certified (or Board Eligible)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Case Log Requirements:
  • Applicants must provide evidence of performing a minimum of 50 major vascular surgical procedures within the last 12 months, including at least 7 open aortic cases, reflecting the requested privileges
• Licensure:
  • Will consider candidates with an Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) agreement or those awaiting licensure in Michigan

Credentialing Process

Expected credentialing timeframe is typically 30 days but may vary based on application prioritization related to the desired start date.
