Job summary

CompHealth is seeking a locum gastroenterologist for inpatient hospital coverage in North Carolina. Typical shifts are 7 am–5 pm with weekend call, seeing 10–15 patients per day and performing GI procedures including EGD, colonoscopy, PEG, and lower GI work.

You will work in a busy hospital setting with a 1:4 beeper call and fast response times. CompHealth arranges complimentary housing and travel, provides malpractice coverage, and assists with credentialing to streamline deployment.

Qualifications

• Inpatient hospital-based gastroenterology coverage.
• Call ratio 1:4 with beeper and 15–30 minute response time.
• Upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, PEG and lower GI procedures required.
• Small bowel biopsy and flexible sigmoidoscopy skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient gastroenterology coverage in a hospital setting.
• Perform endoscopic procedures including EGD, colonoscopy, PEG and related work.
• Maintain schedule with a 1:4 call rotation and prompt response times.

• Monday - Friday, 7 am - 5 pm (10-hour shifts) plus weekend call
• 10 - 15 patients per shift -- inpatient rounding
• Inpatient hospital-based gastroenterology coverage
• Call ratio 1:4 -- beeper call with 15 - 30 minute response time
• Upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, PEG, and lower GI procedures required
• Small bowel biopsy and flexible sigmoidoscopy skills required
• Ongoing coverage -- one week per month plus one weekend call per month
• We negotiate better pay and deposit it weekly
