Qualifications

• Beeper call with 20 minute response time required.
• Call ratio 1:2.
• Avg 4-5 phone consults, patients seen, and admissions per 24 hrs.
• Inpatient rounding and call coverage included.
• Extensive CV/thoracic surgery skills required -- open and endoscopic.
• TAVR, CABG, LVAD, valve repair/replacement, and lung resection required.
• Congenital defect repair and aneurysm repair skills required.
• Bronchoscopy and vent management skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24/7 on-call support with rapid response times.
• Perform and assist in major thoracic procedures as needed.
• Coordinate inpatient rounding and coverage arrangements.
• Utilize endoscopic techniques where appropriate.
• Assist in complex valve and vascular surgeries as part of a multidisciplinary team.
