Job summary

Weatherby Healthcare is seeking a Physician Assistant with neurosurgery experience for a locum opportunity in Connecticut. Position includes 7 on/7 off nights (6am–6pm) and rounds on inpatient floors with a 70/30 neurosurgery/neurology split.

ACLS and BLS are required, along with board certification and PA licensure. Expected caseload involves lumbar punctures and drain removals with a patient load of 8–12 per shift; no operating room or ICU duties.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of PA experience required.
• ACLS and BLS certification required.
• Board certification required.
• 7 on/7 off night shifts, 6am–6pm.
• Inpatient floor rounding; no OR and no ICU.
• 70/30 neurosurgery/neurology patient mix.

Responsibilities

• Rounding on inpatient floors and supporting neurosurgery/neurology teams.
• Perform lumbar punctures and drain removals as assigned.
• Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to coordinate care for neurosurgical patients.
• Document procedures and patient status in the medical record.
