Aya Locums has an immediate opening for a locum Pathology physician in Harlingen, TX. The role involves gross and microscopic examinations, interpretation of results, and autopsy duties as needed. Shifts are standard 9 hours from 08:00 to 17:00 with on-call coverage.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Residency in pathology per ACGME or AOA.

Responsibilities

• Perform gross and microscopic examinations of tissue samples, blood and other bodily fluids to diagnose diseases and conditions.
• Provide accurate and timely diagnostic information to physicians to aid in patient care decisions.
• Conduct autopsies to determine cause of death when required.
• Interpret and communicate pathology results to other healthcare providers.
• Maintain high standards of quality control and compliance with laboratory regulations and protocols.
• Participate in case reviews to discuss complex cases.
• Maintain accurate and thorough medical records.
