Med Ninjas - Locum is seeking a Nurse Practitioner specialized in Surgery - Trauma for long-term locum tenens coverage at an inpatient facility in Redding, CA.

The assignment runs October 7, 2026 through December 31, 2026 with a PM shift (3:00 PM–1:00 AM). No on-call requirement, possible weekend scheduling.

Responsibilities include history taking, exams, treatment planning, order reviews, and trauma service coverage in a Level II Trauma Center.

Qualifications

• NCCPA/AACN certification required.
• CA NP furnishing number/CA license required.
• Inpatient trauma care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take patient history and perform physical examinations.
• Initiate or revise treatment plans for adult trauma patients.
• Order and review diagnostic and therapeutic services.
• Respond to immediate medical situations and manage trauma care.
• Counsel patients and coordinate admissions and continuing care.

Med Ninjas is seeking a Nurse Practitioner - Surgery - Trauma for long term locum tenens coverage at a inpatient facility located in Redding, CA.

The Nurse Practitioner must be available for the complete coverage block from October 7, 2026 to December 31, 2026.

This assignment includes Inpatient, onsite hospital coverage, Trauma/Critical Care experience, trauma service coverage, and no on-call requirement with possible weekend scheduling.

Locum Tenens Nurse Practitioner - Surgery - Trauma

Shift: PM shift, 3:00 PM–1:00 AM

Start Date: October 7, 2026

End Date: December 31, 2026

Position Details:

Patient Population: Adult trauma patients; few to zero pediatric patients

Setting: Level II Trauma Center

Responsibilities:

• Take patient history
• perform physical exams and assessments
• initiate/revise treatment plans
• order and review diagnostic and therapeutic services
• respond to immediate medical situations
• counsel patients
• initiate admissions and continuing care
• facilitate referrals
• administer medications
• and monitor, manage, and discharge patients on the trauma service

Required Procedures:

• Local anesthesia
• laceration repair
• dressing changes
• drain removal
• suture removal
• debridement and closure of wounds
• superficial wound debridement
• basic management of non-displaced fractures
• removal of superficial foreign bodies
• hemostasis
• packing insertion/removal
• incision and drainage
• cervical spine clearance
• chest tube removal
• burn management
• intermediate laceration repair
• arterial line insertion
• fracture reductions
• simple dislocation reductions
• central line insertion
• and chest tube insertion

EMR System: Cerner Care B

Support Staff: One other Trauma NP/PA working day shift, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM; support from one trauma surgeon on call

Days Per Month: As scheduled based on listed coverage dates

On-Call/Weekends: On-call: N/A; weekends may be part of the schedule

Requirements

• NCCPA or AACN Certified – REQUIRED
• CA active license; NPs must have CA NP furnishing number; PAs must complete CA CSEC – REQUIRED
• CA DEA, ACLS, ATLS, BLS – REQUIRED
